Founded in 2005 by designer Sara Abera, Muya ('craft') retrains traditional weavers and potters to produce refined hand-woven throws, table linens, shawls and ceramics that export worldwide — it was Ethiopia's first World Fair Trade Organization member. The Sidist Kilo compound houses over 150 artisans, with a retail shop also at the UNECA Rotunda building.

Call ahead to visit the Sidist Kilo workshop and see the weavers at their looms; textiles pack flat and make superb gifts.
