Hager Fikir Theatre
ሀገር ፍቅር ቲያትር
Founded in 1935, Hager Fikir is one of the oldest theatres in Africa and a cradle of Ethiopian drama and music — Tilahun Gessesse and other greats started here. Recently given a facelift amid Piassa's redevelopment, it stages musical dramas and ethnographic performances, currently concentrated on Sundays with two shows a week.
☀️ Local tip
Performances are in Amharic, but the music-and-dance shows are enjoyable regardless — currently Sundays only, so plan around it.
