Operating since 1991, Alem Bunna is one of Ethiopia's largest coffee roasters and its cafés are dependable local haunts for strong macchiatos and buna, decorated with Ethiopian art. Cheaper and more local-feeling than the international-style chains.

The Bole Road branch (opposite the Angola Embassy) is convenient; pick up ground coffee as a souvenir.
